As a studio artist I work alone, immersed in the creation of my current ideas through inspiration, experimentation and fruition.  As a community artist, I facilitate the same creative experience with neighbors, families, youth groups - anyone who is willing to help build, change, and contribute.  I find these two ways of working extremely compatible.  As an artist, I am the sole decider; as a community artist I hand over the decisions and responsibility to the people who live with the mural or sculpture that they create for themselves.
